Temple located at Kottappadi village near Kottakkal of Malappuram district in Kerala. Venkitta Thevar Temple located close to the ruins of an old fort is a specimen of the indigenous style of temple architecture of the 19th century. It is of Dwitala Vimana. The Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) and Mukhamandapa are square in shape with a sheeted roof. The chief deity is Lord Siva along with his spouse Parvathi. The sub shrines are Ganapathy and Ayappan.
The murals on the walls of the garbhagriha and magnificent wood carvings on the griva (neck of the superstructure) envisage the uniqueness of craftsmanship. The date of the murals, name of the artist and the patrons are inscribed on the southern side of the shrine itself.
There remain traditional two-storeyed Gopurams (gateways) on the western and eastern entrances. The temple complex consists of Nalambalam, Namaskaramandapam, Agrasala and temple tanks, located inside and outside the temple. The temple is owned by the Kizhakke Kovilakom Trust, a branch of the Samutiri Royal family.

ഗർഭഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ ചുവരുകളിലെ ചുവർചിത്രങ്ങളും ഗ്രിവയിലെ (മേൽഘടനയുടെ കഴുത്തിൽ) ഗംഭീരമായ കൊത്തുപണികളും കരകൗശലത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകത വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ചുവർചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ തീയതി, കലാകാരന്റെ പേര്, രക്ഷാധികാരികൾ എന്നിവ ശ്രീകോവിലിന്റെ തെക്ക് വശത്ത് തന്നെ ആലേഖനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
പടിഞ്ഞാറ്, കിഴക്ക് പ്രവേശന കവാടങ്ങളിൽ പരമ്പരാഗത രണ്ട് നിലകളുള്ള ഗോപുരങ്ങൾ (ഗേറ്റ്‌വേകൾ) അവശേഷിക്കുന്നു. നാലമ്പലം, നമസ്‌കാരമണ്ഡപം, അഗ്രശാല, ക്ഷേത്രസങ്കേതങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനകത്തും പുറത്തും സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ് ക്ഷേത്ര സമുച്ചയം. സാമുതിരി രാജകുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ശാഖയായ കിഴക്കേ കോവിലകം ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ളതാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം.
