This ancient temple is located at a distance of 5 km north of Thuvayoor in Pathanamthitta district. The temple is over 800 years old. Goddess Bhadrakali and Durga are the main deities of this temple. Every year the annual festival celebrates on the day of ‘Revathi’ in the month of ‘Kumbham’ of Malayalam calendar.
It is the only temple in Kerala dedicated to ‘Karyasiddhi Pooja’ with ‘Rudraksha’. The offering of ‘Rudrakshapara’ to Lord Mahadev is a special offering made here for every day. The offerings are made using the ‘Rudraksha’ grown in the temple courtyard.
The belief here is that if Mahadevan, who is facing the west, submits ‘Rudrakshapara’ seven times and proves 21 Shiva lamps along with ‘Rudrakshapara’ for the seventh time, then Mahadevan will do what the devotee wants in mind.
‘Rudraksha’ is also used to weigh children for child diseases. Devotees also get ‘Rudraksha’, which is specially worshiped in the presence of Lord Shiva for 41 days. ‘Rudraksha’ worshiped anywhere in India is sent by courier.
It is also a rare temple in South Kerala where ‘Muttarukkal’ offerings are made to remove obstacles. ‘Kaivattaka Guruthi’ and ‘Nadaguruthi’ are special offerings for Bhadrakali here. Nagas have a special place here.

കാര്യസിദ്ധിക്കുവേണ്ടി രുദ്രാക്ഷം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് മഹാദേവന് പറസമർപ്പണം ഇവിടുത്തെ വിശേഷാൽ വഴിപാടാണ്.ക്ഷേത്ര മുറ്റത്ത് വളരുന്ന രുദ്രാക്ഷം ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് ഈ വഴിപാട് നടത്തുന്നത് എന്നത് പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. പടിഞ്ഞാറേക്ക് ദർശനം നൽകുന്ന മഹാദേവന് ഏഴ് തവണ രുദ്രാക്ഷപ്പറ സമർപ്പിച്ച് ഏഴാമത്തെ തവണ രുദ്രാക്ഷപ്പറ യ്ക്കൊപ്പം 21 ശിവദീപവും തെളിയിച്ചാൽ മനസ്സിൽ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത് മഹാദേവന് നടത്തിതരും എന്നുള്ളതാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ വിശ്വാസം. രുദ്രാക്ഷം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ബാലപീഡകൾ മാറാൻ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് തുലാഭാരവും ഇവിടെ നടത്തുന്നു.41 ദിവസം ശിവ സന്നിധിയിൽ പ്രത്യേകം പൂജിച്ച രുദ്രാക്ഷവും ഭക്തർക്ക് ഇവിടെ നിന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നതാണ്.ഇന്ത്യയിൽ എവിടേക്കും പൂജിച്ച രുദ്രാക്ഷ കൊറിയർ മുഖേന അയച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നതാണ്. തടസ്സങ്ങൾ മാറാൻ ഭദ്രകാളിക്ക് മുട്ടറുക്കൽ വഴിപാട് നടത്തുന്ന തെക്കൻകേരളത്തിലെ അപൂർവ ക്ഷേത്രം കൂടിയാണിത്.
ഭദ്രകാളിക്ക് കൈവട്ടക ഗുരുതിയും,നടഗുരുതിയും ഇവിടുത്തെ വിശേഷം ആണ്.
